I write to thank you most sincerely, on behalf of the British Heart Foundation - Ealing branch, for participating in our Charity Dinner evening, in the Mary King Room on the 28th November.

You would have realised from the enthusiastic reception of the entertainment provided by Vamp til Ready that your performance really enhanced the evening and was a truly delightful conclusion to our event.

I understand that you had already performed elsewhere on that evening and am amazed that you were all so fresh and lively (or maybe that is professional expertise to appear so!).

This annual and well supported event always raises a substantial amount of money, which is of course entirely utilised by the British Heart Foundation for research into the causes, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the heart and circulatory system of both adults and children, including congenital disorders. It has also more recently funded the work of nurses in the Community who assist patients on their return home following severe cardiac illness, to relieve their anxiety and enable them to return to an acceptable quality of life.

There has also been a recent fund raising drive to assist in the purchase of defibrillators to be operated by suitably trained personnel in the Community. It is known that if more of these items of equipment, which are essential in restarting the heart after sudden arrest, were available outside hospitals many lives could be saved.

You may rest assured that your kindness in supporting our Charity is much appreciated and we are most indebted for your magnificent and well chosen performance on our behalf.

With kind regards.

Yours sincerely,

Mary C. Smythe (Miss)
Hon. Secretary to the British Heart Foundation - Ealing branch
